Lori Whitlock: 5x7 Tiered Cake Gift Card Holder

Hi Everyone!  I'm up on the Lori Whitlock Blog with a tutorial showing how to assemble Lori's 5x7 Tiered Cake Gift Card Holder. (available here in the Silhouette Store).  Take a peek...

I used some Doodlebug Design Swiss Dots Petite Prints papers for the cake layers, and added some glitter and flower stickers and sprinkles from the Doodlebug Spring Garden Collection.

The top tier of the cake slides out to hold a gift card.  It such a fun way to make giving a gift card a bit more personal!  Stop by Lori's Blog here to see the tutorial.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Fun in the Sun Project

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun décor project I created using the FABULOUS new Fun in the Sun Collection from Doodlebug Design!  When I first saw this collection I knew I had about 1,000 pictures that would be perfect, but then I read the quote in the project and knew I had to use it!  Take a peek...

This shadowbox is made completely from paper! I used Lori Whitlock's 11.3" Square Shadowbox cut file and my silhouette to create it!  The main body of the box is made from some Doodlebug Textured Cardstock in Lily White, I then set out to decorate it using all the fabulous goodies in the Fun in the Sun Collection!

Using my Silhouette, I cut the Flamingo and Palm Tree.  The B-side of the Flock of Flamingo's Paper was the perfect pink for my Flamingo!  I added in a little Cupcake Swiss Dot Cardstock to make the wing. I couldn't resist the sunglasses stickers from the Fun in the Sun Icons Sheet!  I added a couple of sprinkles from the Paradise Shaped Sprinkles to the edges.  The palm trees on the B-side of the Polka dot Party Paper were perfect to make the leaves of my palm tree along with some Limeade Swiss Dot Cardstock!!

By far my favorite new Doodlebug Product is the packet of Odds and Ends!  There are so many pieces to play with and add to embellishment clusters!  I used most of the flowers and leaves, as well as the sun & cloud.  I still have almost a full package!  They are fabulous!

My words were created using some Cupcake and Lily White Skinny Type Stickers.  I was so happy that this project looks like I had envisioned!  I can't wait to hang it on my craft room wall!  That's it for me today, be sure to stop by the Doodlebug Blog the rest of this week and all next week for more Fun in the Sun inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by to peek!

Paper Issues: Lawn Fawn Feature

Hi Everyone!  Today some of the designers over at Paper Issues are featuring products from Lawn Fawn!  Since I have about 1,000 graduation parties to attend this month, I thought I'd make a fun graduation Card!

I started with some papers from the Lawn Fawn Beach Side Collection. I cut a square using the new Small Cross-Stitched Square Stackables. I stamped and cut out some graduation hats and diplomas using the Smart Cookie Stamps and Dies, and added in some sequins to make my shaker.  To finish it off, I used my Scripty Congrats die to cut my sentiment.  Head on over to the Paper Issues Blog for more Lawn Fawn inspiration!  You'll be glad you did!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Paper Issues: Let’s Get Knot-ical Issue

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a layout I created for the latest Issue at Paper Issues Let's Get Knot-ical!  Some suggested theme ideas: anything you can do on the water (water skiing, boating, tubing, cruises, whale watch, etc.); use a compass, ship’s wheel, sailboat or ocean creatures as embellishments; add knots to your project, whether you use ribbon, twine or other fibers; beach vacations or Father’s Day!  I created this fun layout of my husband's latest toy...

He was so excited to name the new boat Sweet Caroline.  First, it's our daughter's name, second, we live in Red Sox Nation, so it's kind of an anthem....  I used some Beach Day by Carta Bella, the colors and patterns were perfect!  You can grab some to scrap your summer memories in the Paper Issues Store here!  Here are some close-ups...

We would love for you to play along with this issue.  Post your projects to the Current Issue Challenge Album in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook Group.  You have until July 4th to play along to be entered to win a gift card to the Paper Issues Store.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Doodlebug Design: Mix and Match Challenge

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a layout I created for the Mix and Match Challenge at Doodlebug Design!  The ladies on the Doodlebug DT were challenged to create a project using multiple Doodlebug collections... which is so easy, everything coordinates so well!  Here's my layout featuring 6...yes 6 Doodlebug collections.  Take a peek.

I love this picture!  I got to meet one of my on-line scrappy friends in real life after knowing each other for 3 years! Danielle flew in from the Netherlands and we had a great weekend at a huge crop!

Swimming Pool and Limeade are my favorite Doodlebug Colors so I decided to use those colors for my layout.  I used coordinating papers from Polar Pals, Spring Garden, Anchors Aweigh, Sweet Things, Swiss Dot Petite Prints and an oldie...Hip Hip Hooray!

The beauty of keeping the same color families across collections is that you can always find that perfect paper or embellishment to add to your projects!  I found stickers and sprinkles in each of the collections to add to my layout!

Fun fact... the glasses photo props we are using in this picture are from my Swiss Dot Petite Prints project that I blogged back in February!   That's it for me today, make sure to keep checking the Doodlebug blog for more Mix and Match inspiration!
