Lori Whitlock: Print and Cut Christmas Tags

Hi Everyone ! Well, we are down to the wire with the holidays, and I will admit, I'm a last minute wrapper! This year, I did think ahead a little and I created some fun tags using Lori's Print and Cut Christmas Tag Bundle. (Sold individually in the Silhouette Store here). I know a lot of Silhouette users are unsure how to use the print and cut feature, but it really is pretty easy, and the results are awesome!  I have a full tutorial here on the Lori Whitlock's Blog.  Here are the tags, so cute!

And here are some close-ups of the individual tags, I used some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Christmas for the tag bases.

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Unicorns and Rainbows

Hi Everyone, today on the Doodlebug Blog I have my take on the meme challenge.  Can I just say Unicorns, Rainbows and Glitter?  Here is the meme that inspired my layout, I've always loved this saying!!!

A couple of months ago, I met up with a scrappy friend for some shopping and lunch.  We happened upon some Unicorn party hats, and well, only a true friend will stand in the middle of a mall parking lot with you and take a selfie wearing unicorn horns!

Unicorns and rainbows, what could be better!  I used some Gingham Linen Petite Prints for my papers.  The title is written in letters from the Teensy Type Alpha Sheets.

Of course if we are talking unicorns and rainbows, there needs to be some sparkle, so I added some Doodlebug Sequins and some Glitter Sprinkles.

I finished things up with some word and heart stickers from a variety of different Doodlebug collections.  That is the beauty of Doodlebug... you can always find an embellishment to match!  That's it for me today, I hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Paper Issues: Remember December Issue

It's time for the second round of the Remember December Issue at Paper Issues!  What is Remember December about? Here are a few ideas to get you started (use one or use them all).
Are you doing a December Daily album? Show us those beautiful pages!  Create projects about winter activities, any December holiday, December holiday traditions or share memorial pages.
Do you have a favorite holiday recipe? Document it! Use snowflakes as an embellishment.  I used some Fancy Pants Merry and Bright to document this fun moment from a couple of years ago!

I live in Massachusetts, so Christmas Day around here is usually cold and snowy.  A couple of years ago it was warm enough for Santa and his elf to ride in the convertible... um I mean sleigh...with the top down!  Here are some close-ups... I love the gold accents!!

Our issues take place in our {Friends & Fans} Facebook group, along with all of our other monthly challenges. Each challenge has its own albumThe December challenge album is right here. Please post your issue related projects in the Current Issue album.

The deadline for adding your projects is January 6th for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store

Need some scrappy goodies to play along?  Use code KATHYS in the Paper Issues Store to get 20% off your entire order!

Doodlebug Design: New Kitten Smitten Cut files and a Mini Album

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun mini album I created using the newest Doodlebug Design Kitten Smitten Cut files that are available in the Silhouette Store, and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop!  It features my two favorite Fuzz Butts Jax and Rosie!

I started out with the Kitty in House file, and used it for the base of my album. To this I added one of the kittens from the Kittens in Box file.  Each page was cut from Silhouette Chipboard, then covered with papers from the Kitten Smitten Collection before decorating.

Here are some close ups of the inside pages...

I decorated the inside of the front cover with a sticker from the This and That Sticker Sheet and a few of the Kitten Smitten Shaped Sprinkles

On each of the inside pages, I added one of the new cut files as decoration.  For this page it was the Yarn Cut file.

Fish Bone Cut File

Paw Print Cut File

Milk Jug and Sardines Cut File ( a note on cutting some of the more detailed files, make sure your blade is sharp, and you have your machine to cut at a slow rate, I used a speed of 1 on my Silhouette.  This will ensure a cleaner cut)

Hearts Cut File

Toy Mouse Cut File

For the inside back cover, I added one of the 4"x 6" cards cut from the Black Blossoms Double Sided Cardstock and some Kitties from the Icons Sticker Sheet.

And because I always feel the need to decorate the back cover of my mini albums....  I really had fun putting this together, and I'm so pleased with the results!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Hostess Gift K-Cup Christmas Tree

Hi Everyone, it's I'm on the Doodlebug Blog today with a fun idea for a Hostess/Neighbor Gift.  The holidays are full of fun and festivities, I'm thankful for our friends and family who open their homes to us, and want to make sure they know how much I appreciate them!  One friend in particular hosts our neighborhood holiday party every year, she's wonderful.  She also loves her daily French vanilla coffee, so I decided to make a gift featuring her favorite /drink...

I created this fun tree using K-Cup coffee pods as the base. You could use the Tea K-Cups or Cocoa K-Cups as well.   This would be a fun gift for a coworker or teacher, anywhere there is a Keurig Machine!  Here's how I put it all together...

I started with 21 K-Cups, 21 paper circles (I cut these from the Here Comes Santa Claus 6 x 6 pad, and the Gingham Linen Petite Prints 6x6 Pad.) and a backing for the cups cut from a sheet of Grasshopper Gingham Linen Petite Prints.  I designed this backing in my silhouette and am happy to share the file with you here!

Using removable glue dots, I attached a paper circle to each of the K-Cups.

Next, using foam squares, I attached each K-Cup to the tree backing starting on the top.

Once the K-cups were all attached, I set to decorating my "tree" using items from the Doodlebug Design Here Comes Santa Claus Collection including the Christmas Assortment Matte Sprinkles, Candy Cane and Holly Berry Shaped Sprinkles, and stickers from the Icons Sheet and some Odds and Ends.  I also added some of the new Here Come's Santa Cut Files available in the Silhouette Store and the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop

I can't wait to give it to her!  She will be so happy.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
